Government

The Knoxville City Council on Tuesday 5/17/11 voted 6-3 to postpone for 60 days a controversial plan to regulate ridgetop and hillside development.

The vote for the Hillside and Ridgetop Plan from MPC in the Knoxville City Council is set for 7:00 pm Tuesday May 17th in the Main Assembly Room of the City County Building. We need your help.

We have won half the battle with our fine efforts in getting Knox County Commission to vote down this plan. We need your help again to call and email the Knoxville City Council members and ask them to vote down the plan so a new process can be started. It is very important to the real estate construction industry that both the City and County be on the same page. The last thing we need in this current market is any confusion.

Town of Farragut Impact Fees

“We have been told with a straight face that this is not a tax.  Anything that takes $3500 out of a citizens pocket and puts it into the hands of government, ladies and gentlemen that is a tax”  Bob Markli, Markli Home Builders at the Town of Farragut Board of Alderman meeting regarding the implementation of an impact fee on new homes, churches, and businesses.

The Town of Farragut voted NO on implementing Impact Fees. A tremendous amount of thanks goes out to all the members that came out to voice their opposition and to the aldermen that voted NO.
