Home Builders Association of Greater Knoxville has a new member-based education series that will feature 3-person expert panels comprised of HBAGK members. The second workshop is scheduled for 11:30 AM on June 6 and the topic is Construction Lending & Financing. Panelists for this event are Kim Carman, David Reynolds and Norma White.
The series will continue on the first Wednesday of each month (except July 4) during lunchtime to accommodate most members’ schedules. There is no fee to attend and lunch will be provided thanks to our series sponsors, Noble Knights Construction Services, Inc.! Kim Carman began her mortgage career January 2001 as a Loan Officer and swiftly worked her way up to Branch Manager. Kim worked as a Producing Branch Manager for the majority of her career. Kim took a 3 ½ year hiatus from the mortgage industry, accepting a position with Arrow Exterminators as a Regional Real Estate and Builder Services Representative. While with Arrow Exterminators Kim won several awards for her production numbers. Kim was able to maintain and build her Realtor relationships while serving in this position with Arrow Exterminators.
In February of this year, 2018, Kim made the decision to get back in the Mortgage industry and currently is so excited to be a part of Peoples Home Equity Mortgage Lending at Gettysvue with longtime friends, Margo and Marissa.
Kim is proud to be serving a 2 year term on the HBAGK Board of Directors and to be recognized as the 2017 HBAGK Associate Member of the year.
David Reynolds was born and raised in East Tennessee and graduated from The University of Tennessee, College of Agriculture, with a degree in Agriculture Business and Economics. His father built homes in Tellico Village for about 10 years and he worked with him for 3 years and gained a lot of firsthand experience working with sub-contractors, suppliers and general contractors. In 2014, he began working for Farm Credit as a Consumer Loan Officer working with clients buying lots and land tracts, as well as financing their construction-permanent loans. He is currently a member of the Knoxville Mortgage Bankers Association Board of Directors (Treasurer).
David specializes in working with clients who are buying land in the county and building their custom home on their land. He is very involved in the construction process firsthand, as he does all of his own inspections for construction draws and works with clients and builders alike to make the financing process as efficient and seamless as possible.
In his 4 year career with Farm Credit Mid-America David has financed over 60 construction loans ranging from a 2000 sq. ft. home in a subdivision to an 8,000 sq. ft. home on a 200 acre farm, in over 10 different counties in the Greater Knoxville Area.
Norma White has over 20 years experience as a licensed mortgage loan officer and is an Affiliate member of Homes for Heroes, KAAR Affiliate Member, and also an Affiliate member of HBAGK.
Norma has been with First Community Mortgage for almost 2 years and has received numerous awards for production and service to the community over the past 20 years. She specializes in Jumbo and VA Lending although she also does Conventional, FHA, USDA, and THDA.
