HBAGK Members' Education Series
Home Builders Association of Greater Knoxville resumes our member-based education series that will feature 3-person expert panels comprised of HBAGK members. The next workshop of 2019 is scheduled for 11:30 AM on March 6 at the HBAGK office and the topic is: Advocacy.
The series will continue on the first Wednesday of each month during lunchtime to accommodate most members’ schedules. Future topics will cover Marketing: Digital & Social, Business Law, Aging in Place, Energy Efficiency, Clients from Hell, Sustainability and Green Building, and Appraisals.

Charlotte Peak, Kace Properties, HBAT Governmental Affairs ChairI have been Partners with Keith Jones @ K.A.C.E. Construction & Developments/Rental Properties since 1995. We are also professional tile installers. We build Customs and Specs for Residential and Commercial and Industrial projects. During the 2011 tornadoes our company built back 6 homes for the Long Term Recovery project for free to people that qualified. We give back to our community in many ways including partnering with Habitat for Humanity and Brush with Kindness to build homes and wheelchair ramps.
I am a Bradley County 4th District Commissioner and am currently on my 3rd term. I am many boards and Committees for the County and the City of Cleveland. I have an Associate of Science Degree from Cleveland State Community College and I am lead paint certified and an NAHB Certified Green Professional.
I have been a member of the Home Builders Association since 2009 and have been very active at the local and state level. I am currently the Government Affairs Chair for HBAT. I have also served as Chair of many committees for HBAT and was the Southeast Area VP for HBAT 2010-2012. I have championed many Laws and Code Changes for HBAT. I love lobbying and if my current County Commission job would allow I would make it my full time job.
I have many accomplishments and one I'm very proud of is getting the HBAT 2017 Builder of the Year Award. I was the President of ORBA in 2010 and 2012. and I enjoy being the volunteer Executive Officer for ORBA and seeing the Association Grow.
I have 7 nieces and nephews, 2 of which I raised and are following in the industry path. Zack works for a framing crew and is involved in Building and Tanner pours concrete for Roads and Bridges. I love ballroom dancing and being outside landscaping.
Alan Van Why, Noble Knights Construction Services Inc., HBAGK Past President 2018
President/Founder of Noble Knights Construction Services, Inc., originally studied architecture in high school in Pennsylvania. Alan pursued his dreams by attending the number 3 architecture school in the country. Alan graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville, School of Architecture in 2000.
Alan fell in love with residential architecture and construction. He excels at interacting with clients throughout the design & construction process to achieve quality results on a budget. Alan is a State of Tennessee Licensed General Contractor since 2004. NKCS Inc. was formed in 2004 to provide clients with a stress-free design and construction experience they will not find with other contractors. Alan served as HBAGK President in 2018 and continues to support the home building industry at the local, state and national levels.
Scott Davis, Eagle Bend Development
Scott Davis is President of Eagle Bend Development Company. Eagle Bend has developed more than 70 single family residential subdivisions and apartment complexes consisting of nearly 4,000 Presently, Scott is the Chairman of The Public Building Authority of Knox County/City of Knoxville which manages construction projects and facilities management for Knox County and the City of Knoxville. Scott also served on the Board of The American Red Cross and is Past President of the Home Builders Association of Greater Knoxville.

In 2015, Scott was awarded the President’s Award for outstanding service by the Greater Knoxville Home Builder’s Association. In 2010 Scott was named The Builder of the Year by the Grater Knoxville Home Builder’s Association and he is past President of the Greater Knoxville Home Builder’s Association.
In 1994 Scott was elected to the Knox County, Knoxville legislative body as a County Commissioner where he served until 1998. At the time, he and his fellow Commissioners oversaw a budget of $500 million. Scott served on the Finance, Pension and Retirement and Investment Committees. Scott was formerly a Financial Planner/Securities Broker with J. C. Bradford & Co., a Southeastern regional securities firm and was Director of Sales and Marketing for Whittle Communications, a National marketing and communications firm.

*Series sponsorships needed! - HBAGK members may pay a sponsorship fee to cover lunch based on the number of estimated participants or they may cater/prepare lunch in person pending pre-approval. Class attendance in 2018 ranged from 20 – 30 guests. Sponsors will be allowed to speak for 5 minutes and provide handouts, etc. Company logos can be included on invitation emails and event webpage if received in time.Images
